Artist's Statement by Alissa Parrish

I enjoy imagining characters that represent the unbounded uniqueness of each being. At the same time, I invite viewers to understand the universality of emotion and experience in our human lives. I work with acrylic paint, mixed media, oil-based marker, and oil pastel on canvas and paper. With each line, drawings develop into figures, shapes grow into people or creatures, and scenes emerge.
